Our Staff Team

KAREN SMALLWOOD

Director

I manage the business side of the charity.  I have only been involved in community gardening for a couple of years, but have had an allotment for around 20 years and enjoy the peace I feel when working in nature.

mirjam johansson

Ecotherapy Worker

I am here to manage our ecotherapy referrals and to support volunteers and buddies in the garden. I have been involved in community gardening since 2009 and am currently doing a diploma in Social and Therapeutic Horticulture. I also have a background in working with refugees and in engineering. When my fingers are not in the soil I like to do all things crafty.

I help run our ecotherapy garden sessions and oversee the maintenance of the site. I love the variety of activities the garden has to offer as well as seeing the positive impact the project has on people. I also volunteer in the garden as a buddy.

Our Trustees

NIGEL MEYER

Board Member

I’ve been involved in the voluntary and community sector in management for many years. I am very interested in the issues faced by refugees and people with mental health needs and got involved because I believe that places like the Peace Garden can be very positive for supporting people.
